  • he Ramayana is not a story. It is a way of life. It is the game of life. Stand Strong is the fourth book in Ramayana: The Game of Life- The bestselling series. A modern retelling of the Kishkindha Kanda of Valmiki’s epic, it reminds us through the tragic story of brothers Vali and Sugriva that life is like a dangerous treasure hunt. One must be resilient while running through confusing, zigzagging paths to acquire essential wisdom. Do you have the courage to face fears? Life is a constant reminder that nothing, however powerful in one season, remains so in the next. These endless cycles of change could really spook someone who is unprepared to face the realities. Remember that situations of helplessness are always created by one’s own limited imagination. Shubha Vilas is a spiritual seeker and a motivational speaker. He helps people in dealing with modern-day life situations through the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, Ramayana and other dharmic traditions. He conducts leadership seminars in premier institutes across the world and inspires deeper human values.
  • Leadership has always been a topic of interest and discussion not only amongst modern political and corporate circles, but even amongst great sages and emperors of yore. Leadership finds its relevance in spiritual circles too - spiritual leaders since ages have galvanized people for individual salvation and social transformation. In today’s times, when materialism and atheism have become super-organized, spiritual leaders also need to get their act together to organize mass movements for spiritual enlightenment. One such leader in the modern times, who has displayed a powerful combination of spiritual purity and organizational acumen is H.D.G. A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada. Srila Prabhupada, as his followers fondly call him, established a worldwide spiritual movement called- The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) which presents the pristine teachings of the ancient Gaudiya Vaishnava tradition in a way which is relevant and relatable to the post-modern world today.
This book is a handy compilation of Srila Prabhupada’s quotes on 51 leadership themes, sourced from his books, lectures, conversations, letters, biographies, etc. The book will especially be relevant for the followers of ISKCON who wish to understand the mood, message and methods of Srila Prabhupada, especially in the context of leadership. The quotes presented in this book give insights into the sublime principles of spiritual leadership by which Srila Prabhupada was able to expand Kṛṣṇa consciousness throughout the world, cutting across all cultures, ethnicities, political leanings, geographies, races etc. - inspiring and training his fledgling disciples in culture and philosophy of Kṛṣṇa consciousness, teaching them to cooperate and surrender, invigilating the spiritual standards of his centers throughout the world, standing upto and fighting with challenges & threats—both external and internal—and, at the same time, writing spotless literatures, which would form the basis of his movement for posterity. When carefully studied, these quotes reveal a very striking model and pattern of leadership that Srila Prabhupada demonstrates with respect to each of these leadership themes. Even scholars who are interested in study of rise and growth of spiritual movements would find the book quite an interesting read.

Choosing choices, is our right and the

    consequences are our responsibilities.

"In reality, life is dynamic, and can be likened to an incalculable river, one must learn to adapt and navigate through its's depths to successfully cross it without drowning. the journey is vastly different from taking a dip in an artificially built square swimming pool with a specific depth. Life is complex and with many layers. and with the peeing of each layer deeper and more subtle layers are revealed. Unsurprisingly, well-informed individuals see the choices behind so-called "accidents" or sudden outbursts. However those with limited insights, helplessly deduce life to something full of entanglements and a series of bad incidents.

  • AT LAST!    The india story!

In October 1970 Bhaktivedanta Swami arrives in Bombay with twenty Western disciples to revive Krishna Consciousness in India, where Krishna’s Name had gone nearly extinct. Over the next two years, in an unimaginable display of pure magic, Prabhupada quickly establishes ISKCON as a major spiritual force in India. Follow Shyamasundar’s eye-witness account, from Prabhupada’s first months in Bombay--to Amritsar, Surat, Kumbha Mela, Juhu, Delhi, Vrindaban, Calcutta, Mayapur, Madras, Vizag—as Prabhupada lays the foundations for Krishna’s movement in the land of His birth. In June 1971, Shyamasundar becomes Prabhupada’s personal secretary and travels with him for years around the globe—all over India, to cold-war Russia, to Africa, Australia, the Pacific Rim, across Europe and America—witness to Prabhupada’s incredible achievements. As they travel, Prabhupada and Shyamasundar share a rare blend of philosophy, action, and humor, debating Western philosophers and storming the citadels, laughing all the way. At last, here are Shyamasundar’s never-heard-before, action-packed stories in 500 pages, with 180 rare photos, describing in factual, poetic, and intimate details this most exciting episode in Prabhupada’s amazing journey!   About Author -  I was born in the body of Samuel Speerstra, in Salem, Oregon in May ,1942. From early childhood I thrived on adventure and risk. After graduating from Reed College in 1965, I met Bhaktivedanta Swami in San Francisco in January 1967, and immediately became his disciple Shyamasundar Das. The Swami wed me to my girlfriend Melanie (Malati Devi Dasi) in a smoke-filled storefront in Haight-Ashbury we called the Radha-Krishna Temple. In 1968, to please Swamiji, I traveled with five chosen devotees to London. There, we witnessed firsthand Krishna's magic display; we befriended the Beatles and, courtesy of Apple Records, spread Hare Krishna Mantra around the world. In October 1970, the Swami took twenty of his Western disciples to India, and together--as Prabhupad and his Dancing White Elephants--we barnstormed the country. In June 1971, Prabhupad accepted me as his Personal Secretary. I was by Prabhupad's side, day and night, in Europe, USA, Africa, Asia, Australia-even behind Brezhnev's Iron Curtain. I never saw him sleep, I never saw him make an error of any kind. How did I get this lucky, to observe close-up the life of the Perfect Person? Srila Prabhupad, the Magic Man himself!
